Graham Norton has been praised by Eurovision Song Contest fans for his running commentary during Laura Pausini's opening performance.

The Italian singer, 47, kicked off the live grand final with a performance of some of her hits, leaving Graham and viewers at home extremely amused.

As Laura's performance continued to go on, Graham joked that she was performing her "entire album".

Fans couldn't help but laugh over his quick wit as they took to social media, with one saying: "Graham Norton's commentary is the best part of #Eurovision."

A second added: "'It's a medley… It's a whole album', @thegnshow is a genius #Eurovision."

"Graham Norton is the exact right level of b****iness everytime, my king #Eurovision," typed a third.

Another added: "@grahnort's commentary makes #Eurovision – you can hear the effortless sarcasm every time he speaks: 'It's a whole album…'"

While a fifth penned: "'It's a medley, oh no its an album', 'oh she's finished oh no she's not' y'know sometimes I just prefer commentary #Eurovision."
