Grey’s Anatomy fans have been waiting patiently for the new season in the UK. The ABC series returned on September 30 in the USA, but until now there has been no word on when viewers could expect season 18 to debut in the UK. Set to air on Sky Witness, the new season is just around the corner for audiences across the Atlantic.
What time is Grey’s Anatomy season 18 out?
After nearly six weeks of waiting, the UK will finally premiere Grey’s Anatomy season 18 this week.
The original USA broadcaster ABC isn’t available in the UK, so Sky Witness will be premiering the new episodes instead.
The premiere will take place on Wednesday, November 10 at 9pm on Sky Witness.
Season 18 will also be available to watch on NOW, Sky’s streaming platform.
Episodes will be available to watch as part of NOW’s Entertainment Package, which includes all its TV output.
This is available for £9.99 per month, with a one-week free trial period available for new subscribers.
Episodes will air weekly following episode one, so viewers will still need to be careful to avoid spoilers coming out of the USA.
For viewers that are new to the show and looking to catch up on the series, there are two alternatives to catch the back-catalogue of the series.
The first is Amazon Prime, which currently has the first 16 seasons available to stream.
Amazon Prime is available for £79 per year, or £7.99 per month.
Finally, Disney Plus also has the first 16 seasons as part of its package, with the service available for £7.99 per month.
Currently, there is an offer available to new subscribers to get the first month for £1.99.
No platforms have confirmed when season 17 will become available on the service, though it will likely be early 2022 now.
Season 18 got off to a late start at ABC, following season 17’s delays and setbacks caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
This in turn led to a much later release date than usual, though season 18 has slowly brought the show back to its original release slate.
All the main stars will be returning once again for the 18th season, led by Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Gray.
Joining her in leading the series is Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey and James Pickens Jr as Richard Webber.
Sadly, not all the stars will be returning as Dr Jackson Avery (played by Jesse Williams), will not be making an appearance.
Williams confirmed he was moving on to new projects after being a member of the team for 12 years.
Joining him in exiting the series is Giacomo Gianniotti who played Dr Andrew DeLuca.
Grey’s Anatomy season 18 will premiere on Wednesday, November 10 at 9pm on Sky Witness.
