Jayde Adam has been impressing the judges on Strictly Come Dancing with some fancy footwork alongside her professional partner Karen Hauer. The actress and comedian from Bristol continues to be in the middle of the leaderboard and has avoided the dreaded dance-off so far. Here’s a look at how old Jayde is and how she’s faring on Strictly.

How old is Jayde Adams?

Jayde was born on November 26, 1984, and is now 37.

Last year, the star’s birthday plans didn’t go quite to plan with Jayde sharing a shot eating sandwiches and a packet of crisps in a hotel room.

Jayde posted to her 113,000 Instagram followers: “This was meant to be a Hawksmoor steak #tubestrike.”

Hopefully, Jayde will have a better time this year and still be dancing on Strictly.

She previously joked about her dance experience, saying: “13 years of freestyle disco dancing from the age of five.”

Adding about her signature dance move: “My sister and I used to do synchronised dance routines when we used to go out together.”

Even though Jayde has said she has her eye on the Glitterball Trophy, the bookmakers have given the funny woman odds of 50/1 to win, alongside former footballer Tony Adams and Eighties icon Matt Goss, who have been given the same number from Coral.

In the running to win the competition this year is Radio DJ Tyler West, actor and singer Will Mellor as well as Countryfile host Helen Skelton all with odds of 11/4.

Molly Rainford comes in behind this trio with odds of 10/1 and former Paralympian Ellie Simmonds at 12/1.

Jayde first kicked off her career as an Adele drag act before going on to do stand-up.

Along with her comedy, she has also starred in Alma’s Not Normal, The Outlaws, Good Omens and Sick Note.

According to IMDb, she will next be appearing in the TV series Ruby Speaking which is filming and Greatest Days which is in post-production.

The star is a huge Strictly fan and since the show first started she wanted to grace the dance floor as a contestant.

She said: “When it came to me being asked, there was no other decision available.

“I had to reschedule a tour which I know upset a few people but they will understand what this means to me if they are true fans.”

She has also spoken about being in a same-sex pairing with Karen, telling HuffPo: “Whenever [Strictly has] partnerships where you have a plus-sized guy, it’s easy for him, because he can lift the girl.

“But when you have it the other way around, and you have that imbalance… [the male professionals] are great, but they’re not rugby players. So I just thought I’d be [more] able to get into the acrobatics [with a woman].”

She went on to say: “And now, not only have I got what we’re calling an all-woman partnership with Karen, but she’s an athlete. You hold her up and she just holds herself there.”

The star also upped her gym schedule with more weight training and cardio to help her limber up for Strictly.

Jayde celebrated body positivity during Movie Week when she and Karen performed an energetic routine to a number from the movie Flashdance.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One tomorrow at 6.30pm
