When Disney+ launched during November 2019, it came with a few exclusive and original television shows. One spin-off was based on the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical, featuring some of the songs from the original movie.
What made High School Musical: The Musical: The Series different from the movie is that it features high school students as they put on their production of High School Musical. Over the 10 episodes of the first season, there were even a few cameos from High School Musical cast members and even original songs for this television show.

This may tell the story of High School Musical, but it’s a high school production of this musical, with characters like Nini and Ricky in the title roles. Although there were a few bumps along the road, season one took viewers through the journey of putting on a show, from the audition process to the first readthrough to opening night.
With the finale ending on a bit of a cliffhanger for some characters. Fans are asking when the next season of this television show will premiere on the streaming platform.
Is there a season 2 of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’?
Will Nini attend the fancy acting school? Will Gina have to move away? What was Ashlyn’s big idea? Will Miss Jenn be fired for causing the fire in the auditorium? There’s plenty of questions that came with the last episode of season 1.
Thankfully, more episodes are on the way, as Disney+ renewed this original series for its second season. Newsweek reports that season 2 will likely premiere during fall 2021, about a year after the streaming platform’s launch date.
