Holby City viewers were confused to see the return of character Jason Haynes on Tuesday's episode.
Fans of the BBC drama were shocked when the hospital porter and nephew of Serena Campbell returned after he'd been absent for a considerable period.
Within seconds of his return, Twitter was ablaze with comments.
One tweet read: "Jason just randomly appears after, like, a year? #HolbyCity."
Another person added: "Ah Jason's back. Where's he been hiding? #HolbyCity."
While other fans were elated to see Jules Robertson – who plays the role of Jason – back on screens.
"MY FAVE PORTER! Jason i've missed you," chimed one online user while another said: "So so happy to see Jason back. The wonderful Jules Robertson."
