Holly Willoughby reveals she smuggled booze into Dancing on Ice final

Holly Willoughby has revealed she slipped alcohol into the Dancing on Ice final, when Covid restrictions prevented an after show party.

The previous series of Dancing on Ice was held under strict coronavirus restrictions and after several positive cases and injuries throughout the show, the wrap party was cancelled.

The 40 year old presenter took it upon herself to make sure that along with Phillip Schofield her co-host, they still marked the final with a lively gin and tonic, by sneaking it into the show in her children’s water bottles.

Before the new series began, Holly said: "Last year because of Covid we weren’t allowed a wrap party so I snuck in two of my kids’ water bottles with their names on."

She continued: "Nobody could see what was inside it, and I filled them up with gin and tonics, one for Phil and one for me and in the last ad break before the end, I was like, 'We can bring out the gin now.'

"We both sat there, I think Phil had Chester’s bottle and I had Belle’s and we sat there and had a gin and tonic."

Holly reassured fans that this wasn’t a weekly occurrence, they only toasted a drink to the final.

She added: "We don’t do this on every ad break but for the final there was no wrap party and after the last series we all needed it."

The mother-of-two has hosted Dancing on Ice along with her This Morning co-host Phillip since 2006.

Ahead of the new series, Holly has said she would love to take to the ice, but as long as no cameras were on her as she would be overwhelmed with “fear” and freeze live on the night.

"Not on the show, but I’d love to have a lesson. I’d love to do that but not filmed or live on a Sunday night," she said.

"No way, my fear would take over and I’d go rigid and just panic and I think all of those things are a lethal combination on the ice. But I’d love to have an ice skating lesson," Holly added.

Series 14 on Dancing on Ice begins on Sunday 16 January, with a brand new line up of celebrities such as Love Island’s Liberty Poole, Ex-Strictly dancer Brendan Cole, S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens and Pussycat Dolls’ Kimberly Wyatt.

The show also welcomes a new judge, Strictly Professional dancer, Oti Mabuse who will replace John Barrowman on the panel of the hit ITV show.
