Hollyoaks fans fume as Sylver is arrested for murder in McQueen blackmail twist

Hollyoaks' Sylver McQueen (David Tag) was arrested for the murder of his mother Breda McQueen during Monday's first -ook episode on E4 as the mysterious blackmail plot continued.

The McQueen family were thrown into a brand new dilemma last week when a sinister culprit started threatening them over their secrets.

Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) found a macabre doll stood on the bar at The Dog recently.

The electronic doll read out the seven deadly sins, explaining that all of the family's biggest secrets will be revealed if they don't pay up.

Sylver quickly realised that the first sin of "wrath" must be about him killing his mother Breda on Monday, and he was desperate not to go back to prison.

With this in mind, Mercedes decided to ask James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) for the money to pay the blackmailer, as compensation for shooting her last year.

When James transferred the money, Sylver breathed a sigh of relief until PC Kiss (Callum Kerr) turned up to arrest him for Breda's murder.

Viewers were devastated to see Sylver get arrested murdering his serial killer mother but some questioned why he mentioned murdering Breda in front of the dolls in the first place.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Why did Sylver talk about what he did in front of the doll anyway? Bit stupid. They probably didn’t know anything and now he has just given the blackmailer the ammunition."

Another added: "If the blackmailer didn’t know about Sylver killing Breda then they definitely do, that doll is obviously listening to everything."

While a third posted: "Sylver's been arrested! However Sylver killed her in defence and she had it coming."

Killer nanny Breda McQueen was murdered by her son Sylver in January.

Viewers were horrified when the evil character was stabbed in the head with a pair of knitting needles, bringing her reign of terror to an end.

After Breda framed Mercedes for the murder of several villagers, Sylver managed the fatal attack as she attempted to kill him, Mercedes, and Tony Hutchinson.

Gory scenes saw Breda with the two sticks coming out of her head, with blood seeping from her eyes as she died.

Sylver collapsed to the floor after apologising for what he had done, clearly riddled with guilt by the attack.

Will Silver get sent to prison for killing his murderous mother?
