How Amanda Holden’s racy bedroom confessions made her TV’s ultimate sex-fluencer – from 'box of toys' boast to boat romp | The Sun

HER risque outfits may attract lots of grumbles from viewers but Amanda Holden has never had a complaint in the bedroom.

The 52-year-old presenter often credits her adventurous sex life with her record producer husband, Chris Hughes, as the secret behind their long and happy marriage.

Now Amanda is sharing her wisdom by fronting a new Sky series Sex: A Bonkers History – about how attitudes to sex and sexuality have evolved through the ages.

Amanda – known for her racy outfits on Britain’s Got Talent – has described the show as “fascinating” and “eye opening”.

But branding and culture expert Nick Ede says it’s “no accident” the stunning presenter has landed the steamy series.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he says: “Amanda has always been known for her saucy sayings and quick witted sexual references.

“All of them are totally harmless but very knowledgeable, too. She has cultivated a persona that is sexy and provocative without being tacky.

“She knows that her sensational dresses on shows like Britain’s Got Talent, or on her Instagram posts, will send pulses racing and commentators trying to complain to Ofcom – so she's box office material!

“She’s the perfect person to take viewers on a journey of sexual history and discovery. Amanda will be a ratings winner and cause controversy once again I'm sure.”

From trampolining naked to a booze cruise romp, here we reveal a selection of Amanda’s steamiest bedroom confessions…

Primal sex

While the sexual spark dwindles for most married couples after a few years, Amanda and her beau still have “primal sex” after two decades together.

“He can’t keep his hands off me,” she told Fabulous magazine. “I actually tell him off because I say, ‘I don’t want to have a kiss and a grope while I’m trying to load the dishwasher’.”

But Amanda is boss in the bedroom and says: “Crispy’s up for it any time. Always. So it’s when I decide. Poor chap!”

She says the secret behind their deep connection is appreciation and respect, in and out of the bedroom.

Addressing Chris, she says: “I catch myself looking at you every day and loving you a little bit more. How is that even possible?”

‘Magic’ box of toys

While hosting ITV’s Lorraine, Amanda let slip that she has a “magic box” of sex toys.

She made the steamy confession as she talked about Ann Summers parties of the 1980s with guest Penelope Wilton.

"I think I can say that we all know what we're talking about. It's early morning and there are children at home but everyone's got a magic box in their house, somewhere. Full of everything."

Booze cruise confession

The saucy TV host confessed she lost her virginity at 16 on a booze cruise to Calais.

Making the steamy admission during Shopping With Keith Lemon, she said: "I remember after going to the Crown Inn in Bishop’s Waltham and telling all my friends because I was the last of my group of girlfriends [to do it] and then I never did it again.

"I kind of wanted to get it out of the way and then I never did it again."

Sex ‘on the brain’

Earlier this year the Heart radio presenter admitted she had "sex on the brain", not once, but twice, during a live broadcast.

Talking about a six-week lockdown challenge the presenter slipped up and said "the next sex weeks”.

She then suffered the same gaffe a second time: "So it's thinking about what you can do to challenge yourself over the next sex…” before bursting out laughing.

Amanda added: "Sex? Sex weeks, that's probably not one of the things."

She took to Instagram after to share the video and captioned it: "Blimey I've clearly got it on the brain."

Sofa romps

The cheeky presenter doesn’t stick to bedroom bonking, preferring to to mix things up with her hubby by romping with him in their living room.

Speaking on Heart Radio, she said: "Our thing is that we watch a lot of box sets together so that can kill the passion – but during the introduction, you can get a few things done in that time."

Amanda said she "really fancies" her husband still and often thinks, "Phwoar, who's that?"

Naked trampolining

The 52-year-old admitted that she whipped off her bikini and jumped on her daughter's trampoline  "totally naked" during her slot on Heart Breakfast in April 2020.

Speaking to her co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda confessed how her husband dared her to bare all.

"Shall I tell you what I did yesterday,” she laughed. “This is no word of a lie, I mean I did it because my husband Christopher dared me.

"I was in a bikini, I whipped it off and I jumped on my child’s trampette totally naked.

"That’s what I’m challenging people to do today. If you’ve got a trampoline, strip off and have a bounce."

Flirting and snogging

The secret to Amanda’s age-defying looks and natural glow is…flirting.

Flirting sparks the brain’s pleasure receptors, releasing the happy hormone dopamine, which makes us feel and look good.

“I’m the world’s biggest flirt and tactile,” she confessed to Fabulous mag.

“Stuff that’s happened in the past may have given me a reputation as a woman who is interested in flirting or whatever.

“My grandmother flirts and is very tactile and my mother is too, and definitely my sister, so I think it’s in my genes.”

She also called Chris “an amazing kisser” and said it “really matters” in a relationship.

Cooking naked

During a candid interview the mum-of-two revealed she likes to cook in the nude – and spends a lot of her time at home naked.

She recently cooked a roast dinner naked because she didn’t have time to get dressed beforehand.

“It’s absolutely par for the course for me to be walking around with no clothes on in our house,” she told Ok! magazine.

“I was quite literally the Naked Chef. I got out of the shower, realised I was running late to get everything on the table so I didn’t bother to get dressed.

“I just raced downstairs, got the potatoes on, the meat in the oven and my veggie option. It definitely made it more interesting.”

Sex appeal

Being sexy isn’t about how you look or what you wear, but it is about attitude.

Amanda knows it, and shared her wisdom with her co-presenter Alison Hammond on BBC1 game show I Can See Your Voice in April 2021.
