Im A Celeb fans slam Boy George as he tries to take spotlight from Jill Scott

Boy George has been accused by fans of trying to steal the limelight from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! victor, Jill Scott.

The Lioness came first on the hit ITV reality show last night, smashing almost 50% of the votes.

Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner came second while controversial MP Matt Hancock came third.

But as Jill, the first LGBTQ+ winner of the show, won during the closing moments of the show, Boy George chucked his drink up in the air.

The Culture Club singer threw his beverage behind him just seconds after Jill, 35, was crowned the winner, causing viewers to brand him an “attention seeker”.

George, 61, was the fourth contestant to leave the show.

One viewer pointed out: "Boy George throwing his drink over himself cuz the attention is on somebody else."

A second said: "Boy George wanting the spotlight by chucking his drink."

And a third chimed in with: "Boy George trying to make it about him by chucking his drink?"

Meanwhile, he was sweetly greeted by his former campmates as they sang his hit song Karma Chameleon upon his arrival at the hotel the evicted celebrities stay at.

As he arrived at the JW Marriott Gold Coast hotel, A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas, newscaster Charlene White and Corrie star Sue Cleaver sang Karma Chameleon and welcomed him with open arms.

Onlookers, including Matt Hancock's new girlfriend Gina Coladangelo and Charlene White's sister Carina, applauded as he arrived.

Speaking to The Mirror about his experience in the jungle, Boy George said it was "horrifying" and was looking forward to regaining "control".

"I have looked at myself for two-and-a-half weeks and it is horrifying. I had to forget who I was and let it go, it was quite interesting to get over it. I am in the jungle with no control. I am looking forward to being back in control," he recalled.

Boy George also claimed it was "part insanity" that saw him take up the challenging opportunity.

He added: "It was part insanity and just the experience. For me, it is not something I would choose to do. It was much tougher than I thought. It makes you really appreciate what you have in life."
