James Bond NEW favourite to replace Daniel Craig: Odds SLASHED on McMafia star

No Time To Die has also become time to say goodbye. After five films spanning 15 years – and a rather long delay at the end – Craig is finally hanging up his licence to kill. Heavily speculation about his successor kicked in after the release of Skyfall back in 2012 but some of the big favourite sare starting to “age out” of the running. Idris Elba is already 46. he may be a fine figure of a man but starting a franchise around 50 is probably looking less and less likely. Suddenly another hot Brit has leapt past the current top three after a “flurry of bets.” What do people know?

Elba and Tom Hiddleston have been the names on everyone’ lips for years, but recently three other TV stars have slipped past them.

Starring in a major hit TV show, especially if it is crime and action-related gives a huge boost to any actors prospects.

Richard Madden has been the insider’s choice for much of the last 12 months after his turn in The Bodyguard, and Cillian Murphy just joined him at the top now that Peaky Blinders is back on the small screen.

So, why have they both been passed by another telly star when he has no major show out right now?

Ladbrokes just announced odds have been massively slashed on James Norton.

He found fame as the dishy cleric on Grantchester but joined the Bond boys when last year’s hard-hitting McMafia put him in a tux, and some blood-splattered fight scenes.

Ladbrokes just announced Norton is the front-runner to replace Daniel Craig on 7/2.

Madden is right on his heels at 4/1 while Hiddleston stays strong on 5/1.

The second series of McMafia has been confirmed but is looking more likely to hit screens next year. Which is handy, since Craig will bow out in April 2020.

Madden might want to encourage a Bodyguard sequel soon, although he already has a major role in new Marvel blockbuster The Eternals coming out in 2020, next to Angelina Jolie – so his profile will be sky high next year.
