Jen Aniston ‘most invested’ in Friends Reunion show, says body language expert

Jennifer Aniston may be the most famous and successful former cast member of 90s hit Friends, but according to her body language in the reunion show's trailer, she's also the most invested about making the reunion a hit.

Speaking to Daily Star, body language expert Judi James has explained how Jen's mannerisms lead her to believe that she's investing the most into the heavily-hyped show.

Judi said: "If there’s a star of Friends who got so huge you remember her by her real name rather than her character name in the show, it’s Jennifer Aniston.

"But it’s also Jennifer who appears to be investing the most body language effort into this reunion too, actually reprising her ‘kooky twenty-something’ rituals as though seventeen years hadn’t passed since the moment the show wrapped.

"We can see Jennifer performing the most inclusion rituals here, splaying her arms out wide to pull everyone into the group hug. When she hugs Courtney she stretches her right arm out to pull Lisa into the girl-hug too."

The former Big Brother's Bit On The Side regular continued: "When Matthew appears upset as he speaks on the sofa it’s Jennifer whose arm stretches out so she can place a reassuring hand on his shoulder in a gesture of nurturing and empathy, and it’s Jennifer who leads the walk-out, hand in hand with Courtney to suggest they really have been Friends on and off-set over the years."

According to Judi, the trailer showed "some signals of strong bonding between Jennifer and Courtney."

She added: "Courtney appears to take her lead from Jennifer and she mirrors her body language a lot.

"When Jennifer is bouncing, leaping and screaming during the quiz we can see Lisa stretch out a hand as though trying to quieten her down but although Courtney sits quietly beside Jennifer she quickly mimics her screaming once she’s got the answer right."

In contrast, the male stars of the show appear more laid back and happy to take their female colleagues take the lead.

Judi explained: "The guys also show some bonding rituals but they do appear to have grown up and away slightly more, especially Matthew Perry, who is much lower on the energy and enjoyment or excitement signals during these scenes.

"Matt’s spatial behaviour and his relaxed sense of fun suggest the highest levels of confidence here and his friendship with David is shown by the way the pair synchronise their humour, although their hug looks a little one-way, with Matt offering a bear-hug while a wary-looking David seems to be less tactile."

As well as all of the original cast of Friends, the show will feature a flurry of A-list stars.

Both David Beckham and Justin Bieber are confirmed to be taking part and former Gavin and Stacey actor James Corden is due to host the evening.
