Love Island: Malia and Kady have EXPLOSIVE row in 2016
Kady McDermott’s ex-boyfriend Scott Thomas has broken his silence since it was revealed the 27-year-old was re-entering the show as a bombshell.
Although he didn’t address her upcoming TV appearance directly, he took the chance to reveal how different he now is from what fans saw back in season two.
Speaking to BBC’s Dean McCullough on his ‘Learning As I Go podcast, the 34-year-old touched on his sobriety.
Captioning the clip, he wrote: “I always say that being sober on a night out is like having a superpower.
“Back in my partying days, when I met someone who was sober on a night out, someone who was purely just enjoying life, I felt like they were a superhero.
“They were people that I looked up to and almost admired. I never thought for one second, I could ever be that guy.”
Scott confessed he used to rely on alcohol for confidence and saw it as an escapism from life each time he went out.
However, he told his Instagram followers that now he’s sober, he’s become comfortable with who he is.
He added: “I don’t feel like I need to become someone else anymore to enjoy myself.”

She said: “Not many people can say they’ve been on Love Island, let alone have done it twice!
“I think I’m known from season two for being so chaotic. People always ask, ‘Do you have regrets?’ expecting me to say yes, but I was so true to myself and I was 100 percent authentic.
“I’ll still be like that now, but seven years on, I am more mature. I’m still the fiery pocket rocket but I know what I want and what I don’t want.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to be me, and the fire I have is in my soul, I’ll never get rid of that and I love that about me, but I’m a lot more emotionally mature now, so I know how to navigate things better. I’ve grown up a lot.”
Love Island continues on weekdays on ITV2 from 9pm.
