KATIE Price hit out at Celebrity MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace after he dealt her a very brutal snub.
The former glamour girl, 43, was up against contestants Joe Swash, Will Kirk, Dion Dublin, and Melissa Johns on Celebrity MasterChef on Monday as they battled it out to impress the judges.
Mum-of-five Katie hopes to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with her special take on mash potatoes, toad in the hole, peas and onion gravy.
As Gregg headed over to Katie to ask what she would be making, he told her: “You are really loving this, aren’t you?”
“I actually really am, I’m actually smiling because if this works then I’ve achieved something because I think it takes skill,” she replied.
“That’s fantastic,” John commented. “So you’ve got toad in the hole and what?”
“The mash potato that I do,” she answered before explaining: “I cook my mash different, everyone always says, ‘Why do you keep the skins on your potatoes?’ Now the skin is good for you, I like the skin.”
But her comment left Gregg grimacing, which didn't go unnoticed by Katie.
“Look at your face, get lost!” she hit out, before enthusing: “You might like my mash, don’t know until you’ve tried it.”
Clearly not too impressed by Katie's mash potato skills, Gregg told the camera: “Skin in mashed potato? She said herself, ‘Everyone I feed it to says why did you do that?’ She knows other people don’t like it so why persevere?”
The judge was later forced to eat his words – as well as the mash – and gave Katie some positive feedback.
“I’m actually alright with the skins it’s not something I would do. I like your batter, a little too much rosemary in here for me,” Gregg told her.
Katie won huge praise from both judges and sailed through to the next round tonight.
Celebrity MasterChef is playing out over the course of six weeks and 18 episodes and will air on BBC One.
