Lauri Peterson from The Real Housewives of Orange County couldn’t be a prouder grandmother as she posted an amazing video of her sweet granddaughter Kennady’s big dance win.
The six-year-old, who is the daughter of Peterson’s son Josh Waring, took first place in her category of a national dance competition and ninth overall. Peterson could not have been more thrilled and posted about her big win.
She wrote, “Beyond proud of this tiny but fierce dancer! @kennadykaydence for winning 1st place in her catagory at KAR national finals in Las Vegas! She went on to place 9th overall in the 8&under division! (She is 6!).”
Shooting for the stars
Even though she is only six, Kennady has been working hard at her dance game for quite some time. When she was only three years old, she posted about having a blast at her tumbling class. She posts plenty of adorable pictures in some of her various dance costumes as she clearly enjoys dance class and her dance friends.

In 2017 Kennady posted a photo with a huge trophy. “Proud moment! Our team Dance To The Music won first place in our division!” She was also showered in dance recital flowers from her family.
She’s also interested in all things dance. She posted about supporting a friend who was on So You Think You Can Dance too. “One of the best nights of my life watching our dance sister @hannahleidazle , winner of So You Think You Can Dance and the top 10 perform live! Amazing performance giving me inspiration and creating dreams!”
Peterson is very supportive
Peterson posts about her granddaughter constantly and is her biggest fan. “So proud of this tiny dancer @kennadykaydence as she competed in her first comp of the season and performed her first solo yesterday on stage as Cruella deVil and dancing to ‘I’m Getting Good at being Bad.’ She got 1st in her catagory!” Peterson proudly wrote.
Not only is Peterson a proud grandmother, but she’s also her granddaughter’s caregiver. She and her husband George adopted Kennady when it became clear her son could not care for her.

“As most of the viewers know, I have a son and he’s had just a lot of challenges. And he and his wife had a baby almost three years ago. He’s really struggling and, well, they’re both really struggling. And so [my husband] George and I elected to help out and we actually adopted Kennady, and so we’re raising her,” Peterson told Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
Peterson continues to fight for her son
Even though Peterson took over raising her granddaughter when her son was struggling, he is now in prison awaiting trial. He was arrested for a crime he says he did not commit.

Waring says a police informant actually shot a man (who has since recovered), but the crime is being pinned on him. Peterson worries being on RHOC may have worked against her son. “When that happened, the police officers high fived each other and said, ‘the housewives kid, we’ve finally got the housewives kid,’” she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in December.
