Little Mix will go head-to-head in chart battle with Jesy Nelson with new music for tenth anniversary

A YEAR ago, Little Mix seemed like the ultimate pop unit.

But as the band marks its tenth anniversary on Thursday, the trio will go head to head with former member Jesy Nelson as she launches a solo career.

They are set to announce a new project, including at least one previously unheard song, for later in the year.

Jesy quit the band last December suggesting the pressure was too much. But lyrics teased on social media by Leigh-Anne Pinnock say: “We walked through the fire and as the flames got higher, it made us survivors, yeah, it made us fighters.”

Fans believe the track may be part of a greatest hits album. Meanwhile, Jesy is set to drop her debut solo single next month, with an album to follow.

It is thought Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall have not spoken to Jesy since she announced her departure last year — without consulting them.

'Quite awkward for them all'

A music insider said: “Little Mix have had big plans for their tenth anniversary for a long time.

“They started those discussions while Jesy was still in the group. Plans did change after they delayed their tour and Perrie and Leigh-Anne got pregnant. But a celebration of their music feels like the perfect way to mark the occasion.

“It is unfortunate and quite awkward for them all that it will be coming out around the same time as Jesy’s music. But there is nothing they can do, really. They won’t change their plans just to avoid her. They are going to make the most of their incredible decade of achievements.”

All four have worked so hard over the years. I hope this doesn’t spoil it for any of them.

BELLA’S RED HOT ON PARTY ISLAND

HAVING siblings with famous partners makes for a fun life. Just ask Bella Hadid.

She laid back in this red bikini while on holiday in Ibiza, having jetted out to join brother Anwar and his girlfriend Dua Lipa.

The model posted this photo on Instagram, wearing specs and gold jewellery, before leaving the party island with her boyfriend – art director Marc Kalman – on a private plane yesterday.

Bella, whose sister Gigi also has a celebrity partner in Zayn Malik, spent time with Dua while on the getaway and said to the singer on social media: “I love you fairy girl.”

Bella admitted she has already started thinking about her dream wedding dress, which she wants Vivienne Westwood to design.

Having secretly been dating Marc for a year, she said: “I hope one day when I get married, she can make it. I mean, it would be a literal honour for me, I don’t know if that would even be a possibility.”

MADGE LICKS UP DEAL

MADONNA turned 63 in style yesterday by flying all of her kids and close pals out to Puglia in Italy for a lavish party.

She posted a photo on Instagram of herself licking an ice cream – and gave her fans another reason to celebrate by announcing all 17 of her albums are being reissued to celebrate her 40 years in music.

The re-releases, which will include deluxe editions personally curated by her, are part of a major new deal with Warner.

I first revealed – a whole year ago, in fact – how she had quit Interscope and was poised to sign a deal with her old label, which she worked with for the first 25 years of her stellar career.

Now the multi-million pound partnership has been officially announced, which looks set to bank her huge amounts of money. The multi-year series of catalog releases will launch properly next year to mark 40 years since her debut single Everybody in 1982.

But she has also promised “unique releases for special events” which are set to be announced in the coming months.

'Delighted to be embarking on this next chapter'

Madonna, who is the best-selling female musician of all time with sales of more than 300million records, said of the deal: “Since the very beginning, Warner Music Group has helped bring my music and vision to all my fans around the world with the utmost care and consideration.

“They have been amazing partners, and I am delighted to be embarking on this next chapter with them to celebrate my catalogue from the last 40 years.”

She flew into Italy on the weekend with her boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams and her children, with her eldest son Rocco Ritchie jetting in from London after celebrating his own 21st last week.

Before she gets going with the reissues of her old albums, she will debut her Madame X documentary in October on Paramount+ after a bidding war between the streaming services. Even after almost four decades, Madonna has still got it.

JJ’S PAIN AT DELAY

JESSIE J has delayed her new album indefinitely until she recovers from a mystery illness that has left her constantly in pain and struggling to sing.

She said in an Instagram Live chat: “When can we expect the album? When I’m better, which I don’t know when that’s going to be.

“My throat is the same. It is so boring, so boring. I don’t even know what to say any more. It should be my thyroid, I’m having my spine looked at.

“I have an MRI on Monday, I’m having vocal therapy, I’m seeing an allergist, I’m seeing a thyroid specialist and I’m looking into autoimmune things.”

Heartbroken Lizzo

LIZZO has hit out at “fatphobic and racist” trolls who reduced her to tears just days after the release of her comeback single Rumors with Cardi B.

In a heartbreaking 12-minute video, she said: “On the days that I should be the happiest, I just feel so down. I work so hard. I’ve been working triple time.

“I’m putting so much love and energy into the world and sometimes I feel like the world don’t love me back.

"There are a lot of hurtful words that trigger a lot of deep feelings today.

“I’m gonna keep bringing this music out and I’m gonna keep on doing what I wanna do.”

Cardi tweeted: “The song is top ten on all platforms. Body shaming and callin her mammy is mean and racist as f**k.”

INJURED JAMES IN SICK BAY

JAMES BAY waited 18 months to perform live again – but now gigs are finally back he can’t play the guitar.

The singer-songwriter suffered a painful injury to his wrist in a game of football last Thursday.

It meant he had to get someone else to strum for him while on stage at Poland’s Fest Festival on Sunday night.

He said ahead of the show: “I play football every week when I’m home.

“In the last five minutes of the game the other night, the ball smashed me in the hand and pulled my thumb back really hard.

“A total accident but really s**t timing.

No guitar for me for quite some time.

"It hurt like a mofo and it turns out I’ve fractured a bone in my wrist.

"Really painful, lots of swelling but A&E docs sorted me out with this wrist support and painkillers.

“I can’t use my left hand until the fracture is healed. So no guitar for me for quite some time.”

But the injury doesn’t mean he will be taking a break from music.

This Friday he will feature on a new song with top DJs Alesso and Marshmello, called Chasing Stars.

And with no further concerts lined up, this should give him the perfect chance to get his third album finished.

VICKY’S GOWN PRINCESS

VICKY PATTISON looked like a Disney princess in her latest snap.

The stunning Geordie wore an all-silver gown as she attended an Indian wedding.

But in one post on Instagram, she also revealed how inconvenient the outfit was as she tried to go for a wee.

Vicky said: “I honestly don’t think I could ever tire of posting pictures from yesterday. Just the most perfect, vibrant and beautiful wedding I have ever been to in my life.”

She added: “Also, just a little side note, these dresses are heavy. I take my hat off to all you absolute weapons who wear them regularly, like.”

This would keep her warm on a night out in Toon, unlike the skimpy ones she wore on Geordie Shore.

Ed wants to get Filthy in a heavy metal mash-up

ED SHEERAN’s next collaboration may be his most unusual yet.

He has been emailing Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth about a possible track with the extreme metal band.

Asked about the prospect, Dani said: “It’s true. He actually touched base with me. I’ve been invited up to his place.

"Well, he said he could come down to mine, but I pointed out to him that I don’t own my own bar or village, and it’d be better if I went there.”

Despite the unusual pairing, Dani says Ed is a “massive fan”. He added: “He said he’d do anything.”

Over the years, Cradle Of Filth, who are from Suffolk like Ed, have released songs with titles including Lord Abortion and Coffin Fodder. Somehow I don’t think they’ll be making another Shape Of You.
