This year may prove to be Amy Roloff’s most life-changing one yet. As fans saw on the most recent season of Little People, Big World, she struggled with the decision to sell ex-husband Matt Roloff her half of Roloff Farms. Now, we know Amy’s looking for a new house with the help of her boyfriend, Chris Marek, however — but she’s also spending plenty of time in her home state of Michigan. According to her Instagram, it appears her mother hasn’t been in good health for the past few months.
Amy just posted another update about her mother again to Instagram. Thankfully, she has plenty of support from her fans and followers, too. Here’s what they’re saying.
Amy Roloff wrote about her mom’s ailing health back in June

Back in June, Amy told her Instagram followers she was going back to Michigan to visit her parents. And while the star of LPBW seemed to have a nice time seeing her mother and father, she clued her followers in that her mother wasn’t in the best health. “My mom isn’t doing so well and I need to see them. Every moment is precious the older I get and the older they get,” she captioned this old photo of her mother and father. And she added another update on June 10. “Her heart is weak though and she gets tired easily but her mind is sharp. The transition of slowing down and not doing all she’d like to do will be hard,” Amy captioned the Instagram post.
Amy didn’t post all bad news about her mother, though. In this post, Amy explains that her mom had an infection in the bone of her finger — but she also added that her mother seemed to be remaining strong through it all. “Just heard from my sister. I guess my Mom is going home after all. Woohoo!” Amy commented on this post.
Amy recently posted another worrying update

While Amy may have posted that her mom was doing better a few months ago, she noted on Instagram that she was heading back home to see her parents once again more recently. As she explained a few days ago, “My trips to Michigan now, ever since I left and moved to get married 31 years ago, are about moments I can cherish and take back w/ me to Oregon.” And she also added that her boyfriend, Chris Marek, was with her for this trip, too.
“This time the moments meant so much more- maybe because I’m not so sure when the next time I’ll get to share a day, a conversation, a meal … w/ my Mom and Dad,” Amy continued her post. “As I get older and look back and see how much time has gone by to how many days I have to look forward to – not so much the # of days but more in being sure I’m grateful for the moment I have right now. ”
As for Amy’s mom, she addressed the health question directly in the post, too. She wrote, “My mom is hanging in there. She’s still able to get around a little – she’s determined and her mind is strong but her body is weak. Just try to take time to appreciate moments everyday before they slip away.”
Fans are showing their support
LPBW fans have been somewhat divided on how they feel about Amy these days. Amy made it known on the show that she was uncomfortable with Matt’s girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, and she claimed Matt was acting inappropriately with his girlfriend during their marriage. Since then, many have taken Matt’s side. But now that she’s sharing information on her mom’s health, fans are showing their softer side.
“Wishing that your Mom continues to do well! Thank you for sharing and reminding us all how important it is not to forget about our folks!!” a fan commented on Amy’s most recent update. Another wrote, “Hard to let go of some things but a person has to and replace those things with new happy memories. Proud of you. Enjoy each minute with your folks.”
We’re hoping everything goes well for Amy, her mother and father, and the rest of the Roloffs!
