Terese (played by Rebekah Elmaloglou) has been at the centre of some huge storylines of late on Neighbours, including revisiting the death of her son, Josh Willis (Harley Bonner) from five years ago. All the while, her villainous husband Paul (Stefan Dennis) has been stirring up a whole heap of trouble on the Channel 5 soap, from paying off the mother of his granddaughter to never return to Ramsay Street and using money from his businesses to do so. In upcoming scenes, Terese will discover the full extent of her spouse’s betrayal and in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the actress who plays her has hinted at what’s to come.

The drama kicks off when Terese discovers Paul spent the money they were going to use to invest in the Quill hotel company to pay off Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes).

It also becomes clear to the Lassiters Hotel manager her husband had a part to play in Jesse Porter’s (Cameron Robbie) departure from Erinsborough.

In recent weeks, the youngster had become a source of comfort for Terese as she tried to get some closure over Josh’s death.

This will cause havoc within the Robinson-Willis household as the pair vowed to never lie to one another again when they tied the knot a couple of years ago.

Having been on a steady road, this latest blockade could be one the couple are unable to fight through as their marriage could be over.

Speaking with Express.co.uk, this is what the actress who plays Terese, Rebekah, seemed to be indicating to fans.

The soap star explained her character’s feelings: “I think she’s starting to get a bit fed up. There’s only so much that one can take.

“There’s a part of Paul that’s incredibly endearing and Terese loves him and she wouldn’t love him if that wasn’t the case.

“I think there’s also that sort of bad boy attraction. But what starts happening and what’s been sort of going on lately, he’s tipping her over the edge.

“And the whole business about taking the money out of the business to buy a child, a baby, it’s just inconceivable for Terese.”

“She is done and it’ll take a lot to get her to forgive him. It’s just a built-up and she’s certainly not happy at the moment,” Rebekah added.

Therefore, having been on Ramsay Street for the best part of eight years, she could decide to start a new life away from her husband.

Unable to move on from his betrayal and Paul’s blatant disregard for her feelings, she could make an exit to go and live with her daughter.

Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel) made her own departure from the show two years ago to go and live in Adelaide.

This move could put enough distance between Terese and Paul she would be able to continue with her life with her daughter by her side.

Terese has never considered an exit on such a scale before as she has become the heart of the Ramsay Street community.

She has been put in numerous life-threatening situations before but has always managed to fight through to live another day.

Her niece, Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) and step-son Ned Willis (Ben Hall) still live in Erinsborough but they have their own lives now.

They would be able to cope if Terese left for pastures new but they could make Paul’s life a little more difficult.

The likes of Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) would also suffer from the loss as Terese has been a mentor to the aspiring businesswoman.

Continuing her interview with Express.co.uk, Rebekah also disclosed what the future hold for her feisty alter-ego.

The actress said: “I don’t actually really know which is kind of exciting but I think there’s a lot which is going to happen.”

With such uncertainty on the horizon, writers could be plotting to get rid of the character but leave the door open for a possible return in the future.

As mentioned, she would still have family on Ramsay Street and so she would always be able to visit them without bumping into Paul.

Could the ruthless businessman be putting another failed marriage of his resumé as his most recent wife sees what the other before her did?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1:45pm and 5:30pm on Channel 5.
