Penn Bagdley’s message for You season 5
Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) left London at the end of You season four with his new girlfriend Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) in tow as they headed to New York to start their life together.
However, in true Joe fashion, he’s left a web of lies and murder behind him in London, further extending the list of casualties who’ve found their lives upended by his sociopathic ways.
Speaking at the Netflix event Tudum in Brazil this past weekend, actor Badgley has dropped the first hint as to what season five will have in store as Joe’s story comes to a close.
And judging by his teaser, fans should expect to see some rather familiar faces from his past to cross paths with Joe once again for one final outing.
He said to the crowd in Sao Paolo via a video message: “Hola, Brazil! I heard you’re on the edge of your seats waiting and theorizing about the epic conclusion to You.
“More importantly, you’re considering what, or should I say who, Joe will come up against as he finally returns to New York.
“Although I can’t say who just yet, we all know there are many loose ends from Joe’s past.
“The question is, who are you?” Badgley rebased before he showed his gratitude to the show’s fanbase.
He added: “Obrigado, truly to all of the fans over the years, thank you, we would not be here without you.”
While Badgley stopped short of giving away the identity of who’ll be returning, Netflix dropped a few hints during the video message.
The video included a number of split-second shots of characters from Joe’s past who’ve managed to come out of their interactions with him still alive.
From season one, young Paco (Luca Padovan) and Dr Nicky (John Stamos) popped up.
Paco and his mother left New York at the end of season one after Joe ensured his abusive step-dad was out of the picture, while Dr Nicky was arrested after being framed for the murder of Joe’s former flame Beck (Elizabeth Lail).

Could either of them be back to exact revenge on Joe – or perhaps even help him out?
There was also a brief hint at Ellie’s (Jenna Ortega) possible comeback, with Joe still sending her money following the death of her sister Delilah (Carmela Zumbado).
Or will it be Sherry (Shalita Grant) and Cary (Travis van Winkle) if the promo is anything to go by?
Fans will have to wait until season five to find out for sure.
You seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix now.
