Phil Mitchell’s world was devastated in EastEnders when Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) claimed that Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) baby isn’t his. He initially refused to believe what she had to say, but the evidence became too compelling to ignore, and thus he’s become hellbent on figuring out who’s the baby daddy is — and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) has become prime suspect.
Yes, Phil is convinced that Sharon’s been having an affair with Jack, and he’s determined to seek revenge — in spite of Ben (Max Bowden) making every effort to convince him otherwise. However, Ben soon comes to realise just how much his dad is struggling to process everything, and thus he delivers some home truths in the hopes that he’ll come to his senses.
After thinking he’s succeeded in doing so, Ben heads off, but little does he know that Phil isn’t ready to let his wild theory go just yet, and thus he formulates a plan in his head — as he looms over a gun.
Phil goes to extreme lengths later in the week to highlight that nobody messes with him. As a result, Jack is left in serious danger.
A desperate Jack does everything within his power to attempt to convince Phil that he’s not been having an affair with Sharon but, as tensions escalate, will he be able to make Phil see the truth?
With a gun in his possession, will Phil go all the way and kill Jack?
He’s allowing his revenge plan to cloud his judgment, so he’s not seeing things as they are — so will Jack be able to make him see sense before it’s too late?
Viewers know that the real culprit is Keanu (Danny Walters) — and the truth is set to come to light over the festive period.
The question is: will Jack still be with us by then? Or will Phil have carried out his sick revenge?
One to watch: Thursday 19thDecember at 7:30pm on BBC One.
