Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) made a hasty exit in Emmerdale tonight (September 29) and, while she will no doubt return, it appears as if we might have seen the last of her for a while.
Harriet has been struggling to come to terms with everything that has transpired over the past couple of months.
From the affair she had with DI Malone (Mark Womack), to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) murdering the bent copper, it’s certainly been a difficult year for the vicar.
Therefore, she decided to take the bishop up on her offer to temporarily move to another parish.
Her decision was met with controversy from Dawn and Will (Dean Andrews) — both who would’ve preferred her to stay put in order to protect the graveyard (aka Malone’s burial site).
However, Harriet decided that — for her own peace of mind — she needed to take some time for herself.
We evidently haven’t seen the last of the vicar, as she promised to return to look after her loved ones, but she was hoping that the break would allow Will the opportunity to decide what it is that he wants.
Dawn asked Will if he’s still in love with Harriet, and the answer would appear to be yes.
The question is: will he and Harriet be able to put the past behind them and start anew?

Will will have plenty of time to ponder such a thing, that’s for sure.
Hurry back, Harriet!
