Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) has been abusing and controlling every aspect of Yasmeen Nazir’s (Shelley King) life in Coronation Street, but son Tim (Joe Duttine) has remained none-the-wiser — believing his dad to be the most kind and gentle man a person could meet. However, he could very much be set to discover the truth in the coming episodes.
In episodes due to the broadcast this week, the animosity is aplenty between Yasmeen and Geoff, and a devastating showdown ensues, and Yasmeen ends up hitting her husband with a bottle — leaving him for dead on the floor.
In the coming episodes, Yasmeen calls 999 and tells the operator that she’s killed her husband, and — as Peter (Chris Gascoyne), Brian (Peter Gunn) and Cathy (Melaine Hill) exit the pub — they set their sights upon an an ambulance accompanied by two police cars — which pulls up outside No.6.
Tim rushes towards his dad’s house, but a police officer prevents him from entering, while the paramedics tend to Geoff.
Will Yasmeen inform everyone about the abuse she’s been suffering?
Later, she’s taken to the police station, and Imran (Charlie de Melo) is already there waiting on her, as Ryan (Ryan Prescott) had told him about what happened.
Alya (Sair Khan) returns from Spain and heads straight to the police station to find out what’s been going on, and she later informs Sally that Geoff has been controlling Yasmeen for months — revealing that her gran never had a drink problem.
Will Sally reveal the truth to Tim? If so, will Tim believe Alya?
Or will he simply think she’s lying in order to help Yasmeen?
Meanwhile, at the station, the police interview Yasmeen, and Imran watches as she is charged.
