The fourth season of Stranger Things is quickly approaching and fans have been eagerly speculating where the next outing will be set. With showrunners teasing “we’re not in Hawkins anymore”, many have speculated Russia to be the next location after the post-credit scene from the jail. However, the newly released audition tape has dropped a huge Upside Down clue.
Actor Debbie Wood shared two audition tapes to social media, which show her trying out for the role of Dorris, Hawkins Middle School’s receptionist on social media.
While this could mean Hawkins Middle School is set for another showdown after the events of season one, it seems it won’t appear in the way fans may expect.
The teaser is displayed on it’s head, dropping yet another hint the next season will be set in the alternate universe of the Upside Down.
In the clips, Debbie is seen reading lines whereby she’s telling off a student named Robert before mentioning “weird noises” coming from the school classrooms.

In the character of Doris, the actress says: “They need your help up on three, something about weird noises coming through the ceiling above some of the rooms”.
This could be a huge hint at the return of the Mind Flayer in season three, but with the Upside Down clip this is sure to have greater meaning.
Could the new season see Hawkins Middle school in the Upside Down?
However, fans suspect this may be from a scene that is no longer in the series.
With show runners constantly teasing “We’re not in Hawkins anymore” many fans are expecting the plot to return to Russia to reveal who “the American” is in the post-credit scene.
However, with season four teasers showing eerie clips from the Upside Down, the alternate universe is sure to feature in the fourth season.
Meanwhile, one fan has revealed why “The American” could never be Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine).
Reddit user jcox296 said: “Why are so many people saying he’s the American when he doesn’t have an American accent.
