Strictly Come Dancing’s professional dancer Dianne Buswell had her most successful year in 2018, making it all the way to the grand final with celebrity partner Joe Sugg.
During an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the Australian spoke about her involvement with Dove beauty’s new campaign, #ArmsUp and what she is hoping to achieve from this year’s series.
Next month, Strictly fans will find which celebrity is partnered with which professional dancer.
Hoping to make it all the way to week fifteen of the dance competition again, Dianne revealed how she keeps herself and celebrity motivated, calm and prepared for the live shows every Saturday night.
“Motivation is not hard at all because it’s such a fun job and everything about it is so exciting so you never really lose motivation,” she explained.
“Keeping your celebrity calm is certainly, that’s kind of tough in a way, they’ve never done anything like that before, it’s definitely new to them.
“They are going out and doing something they’ve never, ever tried before and also you still get nervous as a dancer no matter what, even if you’re a professional, you’re still normal, you still have nerves.
“It’s containing your own and being very calm in order for them to be calm as well,” Dianne added.
She also spoke about what she as looking forward to the most about her new celebrity partner.
“I think best part is teaching these people our art form we have worked on our whole life.

“Seeing them absolutely love it, because it, most of the celebrities, once they start they are so invested and they love it so so much, and that’s really special to see.”
As for whether or not she has any worries about the new series, Dianne was certain, whoever her partner is she will have a good time.
“I think whoever does sign up to Strictly, I feel like it’s such an amazing show because they want to be there.
“I think the celebrities that sign up are so genuinely happy to be there, I don’t really have any worry,” she said.
Speaking about her involvement in Dove’s #ArmsUp campaign, Darcey said it was “important” for her to raise awareness regarding the statistics the beauty company revealed regarding body insecurities.
According to Dove, 86 percent of women have felt bad about their underarms at some point “whether it be not getting involved in exercise, not putting their hands up, changing their outfit so their underarms were covered up” Dianne explained.
“And they asked me if I wanted to work with them and be a role model [and] it’s a really important issue that I had in the past and I’ve definitely overcome it now.
“I wanted to show it’s fine, we don’t need to have that perfect underarm and be a role model for young girls.”
The professional dancer also spoke about the “amazing” response she has had from the public.
“It’s been a really nice response. I think it’s really, really important to get the message out there.”
