Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Moment Neil Jones suffers injury revealed ‘I couldn’t move’

Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween Week proved dramatic, as Will Bayley and Neil Jones were both injured this week. As Kevin Clifton stepped in to dance with Alex Scott, viewers were shown a clip of the moment Neil Jones had to pull out the competition.

Fans were surprised to see Kevin Clifton come out alongside Alex Scott last night, as they were quick to ask where Neil had gone.

However, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman revealed to viewers Neil had to pull out Saturday night’s instalment after a last minute injury, as Kevin kindly stepped in at the very last minute.

As viewers were shown a clip of the moment Neil was injured, he revealed: “During rehearsals I felt all of a sudden that my calf muscle went real tight.

“Then I felt like I couldn’t move anymore,” he continued.

Kevin appeared in the clip, as he told the cameras: “I’ve just had to step in, had to learn the routine in about 45 minutes with Alex.”

Neil was absent from the show yesterday as he recovers from his injury.

Neil took to Twitter to offer his support to the couple last night, saying: “I’m gutted tonight I won’t be able to dance because I was injured earlier today but I know @AlexScott will smash it tonight, she’s worked hard all week and she’s in safe hands with @keviclifton #strictly #teamred.”

Alex managed to score 34 points alongside Kevin, which was her highest score yet.

Ex-footballer Alex Scott was commended by the judges for her decision to go ahead with her routine last night, as Kevin gushed over her ability to teach him the routine so quickly.

“Having to teach a professional how to teach the dance in about 45 minutes, everyone can see I made a few mistakes in that,” he commented.

Host Tess Daly vouched for the pair, as she said: “It genuinely was about 45 minutes!”

Craig told Alex: “I thought [Alex] did very, very well, the story really suits your compact body… congratulations.”
