Strictly Come Dancing fans were left feeling underwhelmed by the dedication to the BBC as the theme tune based dances failed to hit the mark.

Viewers of the hit BBC dance competition found themselves struggling to enjoy performances on the show as they saw celebrities perform to soundtracks from shows including Blue Peter and Doctor Who.

The disgruntled fans then took to social media to complain about the performances – still praising the dancers for their workbut finding the chosen music lacking.

One disappointed fan wrote: "Alright, I’m loving the celebration of 100 years of BBC and all that, but these theme tunes with the dances are just not working for me so far…"

Another agreed: "Dancing to theme tunes (which are generally rubbish) is wrong. I don't like it."

Fleur East then came under fire from fans who branded her a "cheat" when she danced to Abba's Waterloo in a nod to BBC's Eurovision.

Viewers disregarded the song choice slamming it as "not a theme tune."
