EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis has been projected by former Strictly Come Dancing winner Bill Bailey to win this year’s competition. On Channel 4’s chat show The Last Leg, host Adam Hills was joined by Rose and Bill, where he asked what advice Bill would give as a former winner of the show. Rose was blown away by the compliments given, as Bill predicted her winning this year’s competition.

After introducing Rose and Bill to the show, Adam asked: “Of course, you’re on Strictly at the moment, Bill as someone who won Strictly last time, do you have any advice for Rose?”

Bill explained: “Yeah, we were just talking before you’re doing great, I can’t, there’s nothing I can teach you, carry on doing what you’re doing, you’re doing fantastic.”

Blown away by his comments, Rose was shocked: “Really?” With Bill confidently stating: “I think Rose is going to win.”

“Thank you, wow, but first of all, I have to do the dancing every week,” she joked.

Adam went on to ask Bill: “But will you hand over the crown?” To which Bill reluctantly replied: “Right at the last minute.

“I’ll be clinging on to it. Do you know what I think the thing is, you just have to have fun over the next few weeks.

“You’ll pick up some more tips as you go and just enjoy it, it’s such a mad ride, but it’s fun, it’s great fun.

“Listen to Giovanni I know he’s sometimes difficult,” he teased.

Carrying on from Bill’s comment about her partner Giovanni Pernice, Rose explained: “He’s a lizard, I call him a Lizard.

“Because sometimes he’s nice and calm, and then if I make a mistake, his face changes to a lizard,” which she then demonstrated, mocking Giovanni.

“But thank you, I’m enjoying it so much I really am,” she told Bill.

Rose and Giovanni have also been predicted by bookmakers Betfair to win this year’s competition as her odds over the weeks have soared to just 1/2.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Rose Ayling-Ellis continues to impress heading into Halloween Week with the actress a strong 1/2 odds-on favourite to win the Glitterball trophy.”

Last week, Rose and Giovanni were second on the leaderboard with a score of 37 out of a possible 40, following closely behind John Whaite and Johannes Radebe, who scored 38.

Compared to her scores throughout the rest of the competition, Rose has soared to the top of the leaderboard.

This Saturday is Halloween Week with Rose and Giovanni performing the Tango to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shivers’.

Before their Strictly conversation, Adam mentioned the fact she had brought her interpreter with her and mentioned the moment they first met.

Adam: “Last time you saw me, though, I had an interpreter because you came to one of my stand-ups.”

She agreed and explained: “Yeah, I did, I came to your show about four or five years ago, and you actually spoke to me in the audience.

“But I was so shocked that you were talking to me I couldn’t understand what you were saying so I was signing to my boyfriend next to me and we started panicking.

“And then you were like ‘oh bit awkward them two having an argument’, and everyone started laughing at us, so yeah, I remember that!”
