Strictly’s Alex Scott says Neil Jones might have to quit show over nasty injury

Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones could be out of the competition after suffering a nasty injury this weekend.

The 37-year-old Strictly dancer was forced to pull out of Saturday night's live shows, with Kevin Clifton appearing last minute as his replacement.

Now, Neil's celeb partner Alex Scott has hinted that he might not make a recovery in time for the remainder of the competition.

The 35-year-old footballer said it was still up in the air whether he'd return to the Strictly dance floor this season.

Speaking with presenter Claudia Winkleman, she said: "I think it's testament to Neil actually, the way he teaches me and makes me learn every dance just in case anything happens like that.

"So partner get well, hopefully, we don't know about next week yet but thank you for the way he's just making me learn."

Neil thanked his pal Kevin for the last-minute favour over social media, which left him with less than an hour to learn their dance routine.

"BRAVO you have always been there for me when I have needed your help. Thank you."

Kevin managed to master the technique, and Alex was the first celeb to make it through to the next round of the competition.

Catherine Tyldesley wasn't as lucky, unfortunately, as she was sent home by the judges with her Johannes Radebe.

The duo competed against Mike Bushell in the dance-off as they landed in the bottom two, but the judges felt her Cha Cha Cha needed more work.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on ITV.
