Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden will miss Strictly Come Dancing next week after testing positive for Covid-19.
The news lands just days after they pair took to the BBC show to debut their dancing skills together.
A statement from the BBC read: "Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden have tested positive for Covid-19.
"The pair are now self-isolating separately following the latest government guidelines.
"While they will both miss Saturday's live show, Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week."
It was also confirmed by Tom's McFly bandmates that the singer would not be performing at their concert in Glasgow on Sunday evening – due to illness.
An update explained: "Unfortunately Tom is unwell and won't be onstage with us tonight in Glasgow. He sends huge and heartfelt apologies to all the fans he won't see tonight.
"The show will still be going ahead, we're looking forward to seeing you all and need you guys to sing extra loud for us tonight."
The statement was later retweeted by Tom, who told fans: "So, so sorry."
Previously, a Covid-19 positive diagnosis had proved to be the end of the line for stars in the competition.
Last year, Nicola Adams and her partner Katya Jones were forced to exit the programme after the professional ballroom dancer tested positive for coronavirus.
However, Strictly's boss Sarah James announced that there would be big changes when it came to celebrities and their dance partners testing positive.
Ahead of the Live opening show, Sarah confirmed that the new shorter isolation period had helped to create better protocol.
With the quarantine period being reduced by 4 days, this meant that stars would not necessarily need to leave the competition.
Sarah explained: "Keeping everybody safe and keeping the show going is obviously our priority.
"We will have a limited audience again like last year, so we will have some audience, which is nice, but it won't be a full audience sadly."
"The better news is, obviously last year the isolation period if you received positive test was 14 days, but this year, it's 10 days.
"So if a celebrity does receive a positive test, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're out of the competition," the chief added.
The new plan should allow dancers enough time to not fall too far behind their peers in the fight for the glitterball trophy.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday night.
