This Morning's Phillip Schofield invades GMB studio live on air during debate about going grey

PHILLIP Schofield today gate-crashed the Good Morning Britain studio during a debate about whether it's vain to dye your hair.

The This Morning host, 58, appeared unexpectedly in a white T-shirt and without a microphone so viewers struggled to hear what he was trying to say.

Ben Shephard, 45, announced as the chaos unfolded: "Hold on a sec – we've been invaded. We've been invaded by the original silver fox."

A delighted Susanna Reid, 49, added: "Phillip Schofield is here, rocking the grey."

Ben told Phillip: "Hold on, I'm not sure we've got a mic on you" before asking: "You dyed it for a long time – why did you stop dying it?"

Phillip shouted across, barely audible to viewers: "I got bored – and it was expensive" before yelling "see you later" and storming out the studio.

Ben replied: "You embraced it and you owned it" as he trundled out of the doors at the side of the GMB studio.

Phil was in a neighbouring studio at the Television Centre complex ITV use in west London preparing for today's edition of This Morning with co-host Holly Willoughby.

It appears he cottoned onto the debate – between Hollyoaks star Richard Blackwood and X Factor star Jake Quickenden – and decided to pop into the studio to air his own views.

I'm A Celeb winner Jake, 31, who was on the show talking in favour of dying your hair, said: "If I looked like that, I might even dye my hair grey to look like Phil."
