We always love it when EastEnders goes big. With recent examples including a Mitchell flashback and a surprise scene which confirmed a Christmas murder, everyone is talking about the show again.
An upcoming episode just next week is about to get yet more tongues wagging, with very little information revealed about it.
Honestly, we’re excited before it even kicks off. The one thing we know is that it is connected to the new Knight family, with the reveal of what has happened to George’s (Colin Salmon) wife Rose finally confirmed.
No other details have been even teased, meaning the format of the episode and the twists it contains won’t be revealed until the big day.
Nor has it been confirmed whether the episode will become available on iPlayer in the morning or if EastEnders breaks the norm like it did with the Christmas flashforward and make everyone watch that night, for that collectively excited feedback.

So what happens with the Knights in the run-up to this episode?
Still suspicious of George, Linda (Kellie Bright) talks to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) about Rose’s disappearance. After some persuasion, Phil agrees to find out what he can to ensure he’s not going into business with someone he can’t trust.
Phil convinces reluctant Callum (Tony Clay) to search the police database to put Linda’s mind at rest. However, it seems like it is going to do the opposite.
Callum’s investigations come to nothing as George has a relatively clean record, but when he looks up Rose, all access is denied. When Linda hears, she’s convinced this proves that George is dodgy.
Meanwhile, Phil invites George to spar at the Boxing Den and asks him directly about Rose. George insists there’s nothing to tell and insists Linda’s got him wrong.
A likely story!
Phil is stalling to sign the deal with George and ropes Richie in to dig up dirt on Rose. When he arrives at The Vic on the pretence that they will complete the contracts, Phil accuses George of not being straight with him.
‘George is affronted and angry,’ Colin Salmon told us. ‘It’s about respect, and George finds it disrespectful, and that makes him cross.
He’s like, “Hang on a minute, you don’t know the story, so you’ve jumped to the wrong conclusion.” But again, George does understand how Phil got to that conclusion, and Linda isn’t helping.
‘George has been living under a cloud. Some people think he killed Rose, so it’s been nine years of mystery and heartache on top of suspicion and misunderstanding.
‘It’s hard if you are a member of a family and your spouse has gone missing, everyone thinks they know what’s going on.’
As an actor though, Colin is loving the ambiguity of the storyline and the new family, which is set to lead to massive repercussions in this mystery episode.
He grinned: ‘Conflict is drama, and drama is our business. It’s complex! Life is complex, and there are so many things that can send people off on the wrong trajectory.
‘I love the idea of exploring that in drama because the catalyst doesn’t have to be some huge thing. It can just be a misunderstanding. It’s more real like that. Being misunderstood is a nightmare for a straight shooter like George.’
There are many theories going around, including one which suspects Rose could be none other than soon to return Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
Whatever the outcome, you’d be mad to miss it.
EastEnders airs the episode on Thursday June 22 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
