Vick Hope is one of the new presenters of ITV’s rebooted children’s TV show HOW, which is returning after 15 years off air.
The DJ will be joined by CITV presenter Sam Homewood, CBBC presenter Frankie Vu and broadcaster Fred Dinenage, who will be the only host to have appeared in all three series.
The educational series, detailing how things work, ran as HOW? from 1966 to 1981 and then HOW 2 from 1990 to 2006.
Vick said: ‘I’m so excited to be part of the team which is bringing HOW back to ITV. I remember watching HOW 2 growing up, so it’s pretty cool to be taking over where absolute legend Carol Vorderman left off!
‘I love science, chemical reactions and the odd massive explosion, so not only is the show educational, but it’s super fun!’
Over the years it launched the careers of Carol Vorderman, Gail Porter and Sian Lloyd and was famous for its catchphrase ‘How for now’, said by the presenters as a sign-off at the end of each episode.
Sam, also a fan of HOW 2, said: ‘The team behind the show is incredible and I can’t wait for people to see what Vick, Frankie, Fred and I have been up to. There are plenty of surprises in store.’
Frankie added: ‘There are some jaw-dropping moments in every episode, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been up to. I hope audiences will have as much fun watching as we’ve had making the show.’
Meanwhile Fred joked that he is ‘just about the happiest tv presenter in Britain – though also, sadly, one of the oldest!’
‘But my energy and enthusiasm are undimmed – and so is my desire to show, once again, younger viewers – HOW!’ he went on.
The series will be shown on CITV and simulcast on ITV Hub next month.
HOW starts in November on ITV.
