THE semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing are just around the corner and the remaining couples will battle it out for a place in next week's final.

What time is Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One this weekend?

The semi-finals of the popular celebrity dance contest will be broadcast at 7.00pm on Saturday December 7.

After weeks of fierce competition there are now just four remaining couples battling it out for a spot in the final.

This year there will only be three finalists as opposed to Strictly's traditional four, due to table-tennis champion Will Bayley's withdrawal due to injury and he was unable to be replaced at that stage of the competition.

Which couples will be taking part in the semi-finals?

Alex Scott and her partner Neil Jones were eliminated last week after head judge Shirley Ballas opted to send them home and keep Chris Ramsey and Karen Hauer, who will compete this weekend.

They will be joined in the final four by former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher and his partner Oti Mabuse.

CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and his partner Amy Dowden will be heading for the semi-finals too, after escaping elimination in the dance-off on the 24 November.

The couple to complete the semi-final lineup is EastEnders actor Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke, who has been a professional dancer on Strictly since its inception in 2004.

What have the couples said about appearing in the semi-finals?

Kelvin and Oti have become good friends off the dancefloor and they are delighted with their progression to the semi-finals.

Kelvin praised his dance-partner on Instagram: What a night Musicals week is just THE BEST! I thought everybody’s dance was brilliant and it still felt like any one of us could sadly be going home…… but we were saved!

"Absolutely blown away by the support. Thank you so much @otimabuse we are through to the semi finals! Can you believe it?!!!!!"

His partner Oti responded in the comments: "Come on buddy!!! Last push we can do this semi finals… what a great journey it’s been I honestly can’t believe it."

Emma and Anton were thrilled to be in the final four, also taking to Instagram to express their emotions.

Anton said: 'SEMIFINALS here we come!', whilst the EastEnders star Emma said she 'couldn't believe her luck'and thanked the fans for voting.

Comedian Chris Ramsey told his fans he'll see them next week, whilst his partner Karen simply said 'the journey continues'.
