NETFLIX has just announced a date for when Tiger King season two will premiere.
Here's everything you need to know about the new season of everyone's lockdown binge series Tiger King.
When will Tiger King season 2 released?
The Lockdown hit Tiger King is returning for a second series after streaming giant Netflix secured the rights to a follow-up.
Businessman turned FBI informant James Garretson, who appeared in the first series, has teased that something is happening in March or April 2021.
More than 64million households saw the first season, which followed eccentric US big cat owner Joe Exotic and his battle with activist Carole Baskin.
Netflix has just announced that Tiger King season two will premieres November 17, 2021.
What will happen in Tiger King season 2?
Joe, 58, serving 22 years for plotting to kill Ms Baskin, has vowed to take part alongside other stand-out stars, including his husband Dillon Passage and Jeff Lowe, who took over Joe’s zoo in 2016.
But there is a question mark over Carole, 59, after her team failed to strike a deal.
An insider said: “Carole is asking for a seven-figure sum.
"It’s around the £1million mark. She wants to plough it into her Florida sanctuary, Big Cat Rescue.
Taking part in Tiger King opened up her private life and she wants to make sure it’s worth her while.”
Joe insists he is innocent and wants the second series to help clear his name.
A court ruling handed the zoo to Carole in June 2020, with businessman Jeff Lowe forced to leave.
Who are the Tiger King season 2 cast?
Even though Joe Exotic seems to be a central part of Tiger King 2, it's very unlikely that Baskin will be making a return for the new season.
Her animal sanctuary, Big Cat Rescue, was extremely vocal in refuting the original doc’s claims. “They did not care about truth,” a blog post on the sanctuary website reads. “The unsavory lies are better for getting viewers.”
In May 2021, Baskin has spoken out against the streamer and any potential plans of a second doc, she told Fox Business: “I told them to lose my number,”
“Tiger King was not at all what it was sold to me to be. … It was a dumpster fire that people found so entertaining, but I think the tigers were the real losers in Tiger King because their message was left on the cutting room floor.”
Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin, are back for season 2, with them also acting as executive producers alongside Chris Smith and Fisher Stevens.
