There is a good reason why the narrator of Bridgerton sounds so familiar – it's none other than the voice of the original Mary Poppins.
Yes, legendary actress Julie Andrews is the voice of Lady Whistledown, the narrator of the series.
Lady Whistledown is the source of scandal in the programme as she publishes a "gossip sheet", which shakes up London's high society.
The secretive gossipmonger however is none other than Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan.
The period drama is based on the Ton who live in Regency-era London.

What else has Julie Andrews starred in?
The legendary actress is of course famous for Mary Poppins and The Sound Of Music.
The star won an Oscar for playing the title role in Mary Poppins and was also nominated for her performance in The Sound of Music.
But since then she is known for the voice of Gru’s mum in Despicable Me, the Queen in Shrek, Karathen in Aquaman, and the narrator in Enchanted.
Julie also played the Queen in The Princess Diaries and its sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, opposite Anne Hathaway.
