Young Sheldon: Who is Mckenna Grace in Young Sheldon? Who does she play?

Young Sheldon is a coming-of-age prequel series to Big Bang Theory and the show is airing on CBS and All4. The series stars Iain Armitage, who plays the younger version of Sheldon Cooper, the main character in Big Bang Theory who is played by Jim Parsons. Fans have grown particularly fond of the connection between the younger Sheldon and his friend Paige (Mckenna Grace), and they are keen to find out more about the actress.

Paige does not feature at all in the original Big Bang Theory series, but in Young Sheldon she is the other 10-year-old genius in his class with Dr John Sturgis (Wallace Shawn).

Her character does not appear until the second season, in the episode A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Newton, during which Sheldon becomes jealous of her intelligence and the attention from his teacher.

Wanting Sheldon to have another friend, his mum Mary (Zoe Perry) invites Paige over to their house for a play date.

Paige later attends a lecture on carbon dating at a museum and she spots Sheldon there. They both become bored and Paige dares Sheldon to sneak out and enter a closed exhibit.

She reappears in the episode A Stunted Childhood and a Can of Fancy Mixed Nuts, during which she meets Sheldon at the shopping mall.

During the episode, there is a nod to Sheldon’s adult character as Paige and Sheldon’s sister Missy (Raegan Revord) have a sleepover.

Paige tells Missy the fact he is overly mature for his age may cause him to be a social misfit and a “weirdo” as an adult.

Adult Sheldon is renowned for being the socially awkward genius who finds it difficult to form emotional connections with people, so Paige’s warning may have been a foresight.

Paige’s last episode is in season three, in Body Glitter and a Mall Safety Kit, during which her parents get a divorce and it has an impact on her appearance.

She swaps her floral dresses for denim and adds a pink streak to her hair, and her attitude becomes more rebellious.

To get herself back on track she spends a weekend with the Cooper family, and Sheldon finally learns how to open up to women.

Sheldon listens to how she feels and then offers to make her a hot drink, which is a revelation in the eyes of Big Bang Theory fans.

Fans of the series will know Sheldon goes on to marry his dream woman Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) in the Big Bang Theory, but they had other ideas for him.

Some have suggested he should have instead married his Texas childhood friend Page instead, saying she is better suited to him than Amy.

Sheldon is irritated by Paige, to begin with, as he is not used to knowing someone as smart as him, but she challenges him in ways that benefit him in the long run.

If he had grown up with Paige as a girlfriend he may have even become better-adjusted when it comes to forming relationships with strangers.

Paige recognises Sheldon’s ignorance at an early stage and she could have set him on a different path to maturity.

Fans are keen to find out in the new series of Young Sheldon what causes their friendship to end.
