Alex has been missing from her spot as permanent host on The One Show since August this year after giving birth to her first baby girl, Annie.
Since then she has appeared on The One Show a couple of times and continues to present on BBC Radio Two.
Alex will be returning to screens this Christmas however as she is taught how to cook some traditional Christmas recipes by Mary Berry.
The presenter and fashion designer Patrick Grant will be taught how to make a Christmas Feast in Mary Berry’s Festive Feasts.
The pair have been described by the show as “truly hapless cooks” and after practising with Mary they will have to cook for their families at home without Mary’s supervision.
The show will air on BBC One at 7pm on Monday, December 20, and Alex announced the news on her Instagram.
She said: “I’ve got just the ticket to make you feel 100% Christmassy!!!… Thank you Dame Mary for letting me be one of your little helpers.”
The presenter added: “Me and @patrickgrantism had the BEST time, what a laugh and the family are just LOVELY!!!” (sic)
Alex will also be fronting a new BBC show, The Reunion Hotel, where people in her homeland of Wales will be reunited with their lost lovers, friends or family members.
The show will be aired on BBC Two and BBC Wales in early 2023 and it will be based on the series Gwesty Aduniad that was originally made for S4C.
