This Morning presenter Alison Hammond spoke about her various love interests on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this morning, including mystery man “Mark the gardener”. Alison, 46, met her green-thumbed crush unexpectedly while presenting a segment for This Morning.

Zoe started off the interview by quizzing her on her “new boyfriend”, whom she referred to simply as “Mark the gardener”.

Alison was surprised by this, explaining that she thought Zoe would ask her about James Blunt, who has also thrown his hat into the ring.

Alison said: “I’m his (James’) celebrity crush, I’ve got a gardener, it’s just too many men.

“It’s just getting too much Zoe, I don’t know what I’m going to do!” she joked.

Alison went on to reveal that she met Mark on This Morning under hilarious circumstances.

The This Morning team were looking into someone who had spent an extravagant amount of money on decorating their house for Christmas, when the incident that brought the pair together occured.

Alison was presenting a segment outside the “most festive house in England”, in Essex, when a gardener appeared in shot before hastily edging back out again.

Speaking about the hilarious moment Alison said: “While Holly and Phil were throwing it to Lorraine, this man in the back with me with a wheelbarrow came into shot and then went out of shot because he realised he was on live TV.

“But I didn’t see him so all I could hear was Holly and Phillip cracking up and I was like ‘Oh my god, what have I done now?’ but it was literally that.

“And then afterwards he was just really, really nice to me and I was like ‘Oh my god, I think I’m in here’.”

At that point Zoe chimed in, saying: “Yeah, I like gardeners, you know, earthy, big hands, good strength…”

“Always dirty though, aren’t they? They’ve always got dirty fingers,” Alison added.

The comment clearly tickled Zoe, as the radio host quickly asserted that she wouldn’t be commenting on “any more of that”.

Aside from talks of Mark the gardener, Zoe also listed Michael Buble as one of Alison’s many suitors after she charmed him in a Christmas time interview.

The Rock and Hugh Jackman were also mentioned, with Zoe claiming that Alison “has a knack” for delivering “romantic interviews”.

Alison Hammond has been an incredibly popular fixture on This Morning alongside her co-star Dermot O’Leary, presenting every Friday on ITV.

The star got her start on TV when she competed in the third series of the reality show Big Brother in 2002, despite being the second housemate to be evicted.

The television personality has gone on to compete in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity MasterChef.

Alison joined This Morning as a permanent Friday presenter on January 8 2021.
