Jennifer Aniston offers newbie Matthew McConaughey Instagram advice: ‘Don’t overthink it’

Jennifer Aniston has some Instagram pointers for Matthew McConaughey.

Although the “Friends” alum has only been on the social media platform for a month, Aniston has quickly racked up over 18 million followers, setting a Guinness World Record for the fastest account to reach one million followers in under six hours.

Her advice to her fellow newbie? “Just don’t overthink it,” Aniston told Extra at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 2019 Patron of the Artists Awards on Thursday.

McConaughey followed in Aniston’s footsteps and joined Instagram on his 50th birthday Monday, saying he wanted to share “who I am with you.”

Aniston joked, “Did I inspire Matthew? I have now achieved some very incredible things, people.”

McConaughey admitted he was a little hesitant about putting himself out there on Instagram.

“Look, this is my first venture into sharing myself and my views with the world, and I’m a little bit nervous about it because quite frankly, I know I want to have a monologue, I’m not sure I want to have the dialogue,” McConaughey said during his first post.

McConaughey currently has 1.5 million followers and appears to be having fun on the social media platform based off his latest post: hanging at a University of Texas college football game with Jimmy Fallon.
