Kate Garraway’s Good Morning Britain co-star and good friend Ranvir Singh recently urged the star to take it easy. This came amid the presenter sharing how she’d had a bumpy 24 hours with her husband Derek Draper.

As many fans of Kate will know, Derek has been battling Covid since March 2020.

He was hospitalised for over a year and has since returned home to continue his recovery.

However, the broadcaster has been open about how he needs near-constant support and care.

On Boxing Day, Kate shared a new update on his health, admitting it had been a “bumpy” time.

She penned: “So the last 24 hours has been bumpy – a scare that meant Derek might have had to go back into hospital ( thankfully sorted by a visit from nurse/carer), he has also had one of his ultra fatigue days so has been too weak to do much other than sleep.

“I burnt the parsnips ( Darcey’s favourite ) & got the ‘wrong’ Lego for Billy.

“But now snuggled up around Dad’s bed watching #nativity everything feels suddenly perfect.

“Feel so grateful to have the chance to be together.

“Sending love & hoping you have found some joy today whatever your circumstances – #merrychristmas all!”

Alongside this, she shared an adorable snap of her two children cuddled up next to their father.

Kate was inundated with support following her post, including from Ranvir.

She replied: “I hope you sat down immediately after taking this photo and let those wings rest.

“You are their guardian Angel … and you have superhuman powers of endurance.

“But even superheroes need to take breath my love.

“God bless them and you x x x.”

Her post was liked nearly 5,000 times as many agreed with Ranvir’s message.

Markusspartikus replied: “@ranvirtv beautiful words and what a strong family from who we can all learn a lesson from xx.”

Bend.ting added: “@ranvirtv such lovely words.”

Stickletrolley commented: “@ranvirtv this made me cry. What a beautiful friend.”

Mariaseaden12345 added: “@ranvirtv I agree, take time for you too lovely lady. So much love xxxx.”

Elsewhere, Derek was seen outside for the first time in over a year recently as he went to a panto with Kate.

The former political lobbyist was seen smiling as the GMB host accompanied him.
