Married At First Sight has had viewers glued to their screens with it's explosive new twist on the UK series, and it’s clear that it’s not just the contestants who are passionate about the process.

Relationship guru Mel Schilling sits alongside fellow experts Paul C. Brunson and Charlene Douglas during commitment ceremonies, where they discuss the progress in each of the couple’s relationships. The experts dig deep on the newly married couple's journeys – and it can get very awkward.

Mel sat down with OK! to spill all about the gripping moments and revealed exactly what she thinks about this year's contestants.

The 49-year-old exclusively told us that there have been “a few moments when I’ve had to bite my tongue.”

In the candid video interview, Mel admitted: “I’m sitting on the couch as a human, so people press my buttons too.

“Something you might not know about me, although you might, is I can’t hide… anything.

“If I think it or feel it, it’s on my face,” she added.

Mel also told us her opinion on the intentions of this year’s participants, explaining that she believes the ‘majority’ are in it for love.

The mum-of-one told us: “We really worked hard to tap into authenticity as we were going through the selection process.

“I think you’ll agree that we’ve got some people here that are absolutely raw and real and prepared to put their hearts on the line,” the love expert added.

The straight-talking confidence coach even gave us a teaser of whether the couples stay together after the Channel 4 show.

Speaking in the exclusive video, Mel told OK! that there are “quite a few love stories this year.”

Married At First Sight UK airs Monday to Thursdays on E4 at 9pm
