- WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

- Fans are underwhelmed by the last chapter of the Ronan Bennett series
Top Boy viewers have been left hugely underwhelmed by the season three finale, which saw Kane Robinson’s character Sully and Ashley Walters’ Dushane brutally murdered in shocking scenes.
The last chapter of Ronan Bennett’s gritty Netflix drama dropped on Thursday, with both drug dealers savagely killed off before the credits rolled on the final episode, prompting complaints from disappointed fans.
Some viewers called for the writers to quit, while others demanded a reshoot.
Dushane was first for the chop and was gunned down by his former friend Sully following a tense chase on foot.
Although the pair had once been running the game together, Dushane found himself in a desperate situation in season three after being scammed by his business partners and left without his millions.

But that was only the beginning of his demise.
He then killed drug dealer Jeffrey Dalton (Shaun Dingwall) in cold blood after discovering he’d been left penniless, leaving his prints all over the crime scene.
With the police onto him, Dushane enlisted the help of Isaac (Arsher Ali) in a bid to help him escape to Turkey and set up shop there – but without money to facilitate his exit, he stole Sully’s drugs and attempted to flee.
But Sully quickly caught wind of Dushane’s theft and recruited his foot soldiers to track him down, with the group eventually finding him attempting to escape with Isaac’s men.
A shootout ensued and with Isaac’s team injured, Dushane, out of options, ran with the stash, but Sully caught up with him and shot him in the back at close range as he scrambled over a wall.
‘You shot me!’ Dushane cried as he bled out on the other side of the wall.
‘Oi the feds are on to me,’ he cried out. ‘I ain’t going to prison Sully. I didn’t have no f***ing money, did I? The f*** have you done?’
Dushane eventually bled out and Sully walked over to his dead body and collected his stolen goods.
But it wasn’t long before his time was also up.

Fans shared their disappointment over the ending, with one calling it a ‘huge train wreck’
In a plot twist of epic proportions, Sully was shot dead by an unknown assailant while he was sitting in his car.
The brutal and bloody death came after Stef (Araloyin Oshunremi) confronted him in the park and pulled a gun out on him – although he ultimately decided that he’s ‘not worth it’.
Leaving the scene unscathed, Sully climbed into his car and smiled to himself, seconds before his brains were blown out by the single bullet to the head.
Despite the brutal scenes, viewers weren’t happy with how the series ended and complained it felt rushed.
‘WHAT WAS THAT ENDING IN TOP BOY somebody needs to quit their writing career EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY,’ tweeted one angry viewer.
Echoing a similar sentiment, another said: ‘I don’t know what kind of ending that was for Top Boy but they all need to go back and rewrite and reshoot the whole of season 3.’
A third said: ‘Just finished the news series of Top Boy and I’m disappointed, wasn’t as good as the last season and the ending just annoyed me.’
It was confirmed in March 2022 that this latest chapter of Top Boy would be the last, much to the disappointment of fans.
Walters recently revealed that neither him nor Robinson wanted the show to keep going.
‘[Netflix] wanted to go on forever! And Kane and I were like, “personally, we can’t”,’ he told GQ.
Walters recently revealed he and co-star Robinson didn’t want the series to continue
‘We don’t think it’s the right thing to do. It may have gone on too long anyway.’
‘Not that it’s not been great and the seasons have all been great and everyone’s loved them and I’ve loved them.
‘I like to end on a high.’
Walters also revealed his concerns about life after Top Boy.
He continued: ‘There’s a huge part of me that’s thinking, “Oof, what’s gonna happen after?”
‘Cos you never know. That’s the thing with this job: you never know. And Top Boy’s been such an anchor for me.
‘It’s been such a defining factor in other work-related things in my life, that I do worry sometimes about what happens when that’s not there.’
