U2 Reportedly Donate $1.5 Million To Help Live Music Industry

U2 have reportedly donated $1.5 million to provide relief for the live music industry, which is suffering financially due to the closure of live music venues amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Billboard, this new amount also includes the €200,000 (£180K) that the rock band raised in a recent fundraiser for Ireland’s music industry.

In April, U2 had donated €10 million to Irish COVID-19 relief efforts.

On July 25, U2 participated in the “Song From An Empty Room” benefit, in which Bono and The Edge played a snippet of Led Zeppelin‘s “Stairway to Heaven,” as a tribute to their support staff who usually keep busting out the Zep classic while setting up the band’s gear during tours.
