Jean-Michel Basquiat's Iconic Paintings Spruce Up Samsonite's Classic C-Lite Luggage

Jean-Michel Basquiat created paradigm-shifting artwork during his brief and brilliant career, and though he died in 1988 his estate has kept his memory alive with tributes, retrospectives and plenty of branded product collaborations. The latest of these product collaborations is a link-up with suitcase maker Samsonite, who has brought two of Basquiat’s most iconic artworks to their C-Lite luggage.

Untitled Skull (currently in the collection of the Broad Museum) and Pez Dispenser are spotlighted across both carry-on and check-in sized luggage. Each is portrayed in full color, with Untitled Skull sitting atop a bold blue background while Pez Dispenser opts for a crisp white background to provide a slightly more muted look. Inside, each features a custom graphic liner made of recycled materials with a sketchbook-style assemblage of words and images.

Besides their looks, the suitcases feature an ultra-light and strong exterior shell that’s both sturdy and scratch-resistant. Other features include TSA-approved combination locks and ID tags, while the carry-on bag also boasts a built-in power bank for on-the-go charging. Each is also protected by a 10-year warranty.

The Jean-Michel Basquiat x Samsonite luggage collection is available via the Samsonite webstore now.
