Stone Island Shadow Project Enters the Sandal Game for SS22

Stone Island Shadow Project‘s Spring/Summer 2022 collection was all about fit, material research and detail-oriented design while creating garments perfect for that awkward transition between seasons, but it was the finer components of the SS22 range that really stole the show, such as these sandals.

Served entirely in black, the Stone Island Shadow Project sandal is made from a textile upper that’s overlayed with synthetic panels and nylon, with the latter working the strap. The nylon is presented in a webbing design and overlays a tongue made from the same material, leaving a gap at the front for an open-toe design and a backless finish for an easy-on, easy-off approach.

Elsewhere we find Stone Island branding on the strap and a debossed logo on the medial-side sole unit, which is rounded at the rear and is made from rubber with antibacterial qualities woven into the footbed. Stone Island Shadow Project may have taken a simplistic approach with its sandal, but it’s bound to be a definite player in the ever growing world of indoor-outdoor footwear.
