Cadbury release new limited edition Twirl Orange bar – and it’s on sale now!

It was first announced back in August that Cadbury would be releasing a chocolate orange flavoured Twirl. The news caused quite the stir on social media, with many fans sharing their joy in the comments section.

One wrote: "This is heaven! Cadbury, I love you!"

Another added: "This is peak confectionary. Never will there be again a more divine and perfect pairing of flavours. Once I have tried this, I can die knowing I lived."

Well now those fans can die happy, or taste this chocolatey heaven, because finally the bar has been released in the UK and is in stores now.

The new flavour, imaginatively named Twirl Orange, is the same as a traditional Cadbury Twirl in terms of structure, meaning it has flaked mild chocolate inside but is then coated in a layer of more milk chocolate.

The only difference is the chocolate used is slightly flavoured with a hint of the orange. It is essentially a Terry’s Chocolate Orange combined with a Twirl, and it sounds delicious.

Gone will be the tradition of tangerines in Christmas stockings with these bars around. The new Twirl Orange, that went on sale yesterday, will cost 65p for the usual 43g packs which includes two fingers.

Unfortunately they are not yet available to purchase online, so you won’t be able to add them to your weekly digital shop. However they will definitely be stocked in Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. The only thing to remember is that it is a limited edition, and while we don't know until when it will be on sale, it is best to try it while you can.

Radhika Pai, Brand Manager for Cadbury at Mondelez said: "We are very excited to share Cadbury Twirl Orange with chocolate fans in the UK, especially after seeing all the recent enthusiasm and anticipation for the product.

“Our expert chocolatiers have crafted the perfect blend of delicious Cadbury chocolate and orange. We can’t wait for people to try it for themselves and let us know what they think.”

The Twirl Orange has already been a hit in Australia, a country that also has access to a caramel Twirl bar which we hope will pop up from down under too. However, if Twirls are not to your fancy, The Chippy, Railway Street, a chip shop in Northern Ireland, has just started selling deep fried Jaffa Cakes.

While these chocolatey, orange treats will no doubt divide opinion far more than the Cadbury bar, a spokesman for the takeaway told Belfast Live of the deep fried Jaffa Cakes: “They are going down quite well. Some people were a bit sceptical about trying them but once they ate they quite enjoyed it."
