Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson has been spotted on the set of his upcoming movie The Batman after coronavirus halted filming.
The 34-year-old Twilight heartthrob arrived at Liverpool's St George Street Hall to shoot a huge funeral scene.
Liverpool will play an important role in The Batman as American filmmaker Matt Reeves, who is directing the upcoming superhero film, revealed recently at DC FanDome.
During an interview, he confirmed Liverpool would be the backbone for Gotham City as they shoot the remaining 75 per cent of the film.
Filming could be thrown into chaos once again after Prime Minister Boris Johnson put Liverpool into the highest risk category on Monday as the British government carved England into three tiers of coronavirus risk in a bid to slow a resurgent outbreak.
Shutting its pubs, gyms and betting shops, Mr Johnson told the House of Commons that the goal was to save lives and prevent hospitals becoming overwhelmed without “shuttering our lives and our society” through a new national lockdown.
While filming, Robert cut a dapper figure in a smart wool coat as he stepped out of a chauffeur-driven car ahead of filming the scenes at the venue, which is doubling for Gotham Hall.
The actor stood under the protection of a large black umbrella as a downpour of rain swept over the city.
Filming was was delayed last month when Pattinson contracted coronavirus but he has since returned to set and hundreds of extras were seen gathering at the venue.
Gotham Police cars were also seen outside the venue as extras filed in by the dozen while cameras rolled.
Cast members were all dressed in black and seen carrying wreaths and various other floral arrangements as they gathered for the services.
Putting safety first, the stars of the movie wore face masks in between shooting scenes.
The iconic Batmobile was also on site, which was parked at the steps of the imposing building and guarded by a security team.
Actress Zoe Kravitz was also seen arriving on the set hours later, looking stunning in a leather black coat dress and fascinator.
Standing tall in a pair of knee-high lace-up black leather boots, the actress looked super chic as she took on the role of Catwoman for the day of shooting.
Zoe wore her chestnut brown locks in a sleek shoulder-length blowout, while her makeup consisted of a smoky eye and nude pink hue on her lips.
It was revealed on Wednesday that filming had started on the highly-anticipated film, after the cinema release date was pushed back until 2022 due to fears over the coronavirus pandemic.
A vintage cream and red car with a wedding ribbon tied across the bonnet was also parked outside the historical building, which may suggest a romance is brewing for Batman in the latest flick.
The building was cordoned off with railings to stop the public getting too close to filming, as workmen set up the location before the cameras rolled again.
None of the cast, including Robert, were seen on set, with the lead star of the film being spotted in character for the first time on Monday morning.
The Batman is the latest blockbuster to be delayed because of coronavirus, raising fresh doubts over the future of hundreds of UK cinemas.
