Alison King engaged – Watch EXCLUSIVE behind-the-scenes video of the Coronation Street star’s OK! magazine shoot

Coronation Street actress Alison King, 46, has recently become engaged to her partner David Stuckley, 36, after the pair dated for over a year.

In our exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, fans can see the loved-up pair together in their engagement announcement shoot with OK! magazine.

The actress looked stunning as she shows off her platinum engagement ring and stares lovingly at her partner David.

The couple are clearly over-the-moon and looked incredibly comfortable together and were happy to share their news.

Speaking to OK! online, Alison said that she was excited to tie the knot but admitted wedding planning ‘feels like work.’

“I find wedding stuff all a bit like work because I’ve got married so many times at work, but this is for real and it’s exciting and I just want it to be really relaxing,” she said.

The pair met in March 2018 and were introduced by their mutual fitness trainer Gareth. Ali said: “We met in March 2018.

"My personal trainer Gareth was also training David and our sessions overlapped. I walked in and thought, ‘Ooh he looks nice.’

“Then Gareth got to know David and realised he was single. He said he thought we’d make a really good couple so he arranged to get us together.

“He didn’t tell David who the date was with until the last minute but we went for a drink at the Church Inn in Mobberley and I brought a set of draughts!”

David said that it was “pretty much” a blind date for him and didn’t recognise Alison from the soap. “Gareth mentioned Ali was in Corrie but I didn’t recognise her from that as I didn’t use to watch it.

“I did remember Ali from the old Daz adverts, though! I was nervously sitting there as she was 20 minutes late.

“But within minutes of her arriving it was just dead easy and chilled. She had her draughts under her arm and we watched the Grand National!”

“I love boardgames so I thought I’d bring one along! He kept saying, ‘I’ll put on a bet for us.’ We just got on from there,” she revealed.

“The rest is history,” David concluded. Alison gushed over her partner’s kindness and revealed why this relationship is ‘different’ to those that have come before.

“I was completely open to love but I wasn’t looking for it so it was a wonderful surprise. I was sick of choosing people for myself, so it was nice that someone did it for me! I thought, okay I’m going to listen to somebody else for a change.

“David is just so calm, patient and kind. As you get older you realise kindness is absolutely the most attractive thing. Everything he said he’d do from our first date, he’s done. I call him Ronseal as he’s so dependable [laughs].

“He remembers places I’ve said I’d like to go and he’ll just book it. So all our dates from the start were lovely, thoughtful and intimate. He’s a hopeless romantic too and he buys me flowers every two weeks – it’s lovely.

“I’ve found a love I didn’t know existed; we’re best friends who really fancy each other. He’s also a good talker and we discuss our feelings and that’s different for me.

"He’s a very open person, he’s gorgeous in that way. The couple also revealed the moment they knew that it had become serious between them, realising they were in love.

David said: “We had a weekend away in a little cottage in the Lake District at the beginning of June last year. We were sitting at lunch and looking at each other.

“It was unspoken at first but then we were like, it’s happening, this is getting serious now. We were pretty much inseparable.

Ali added: “I was the first one to say it though, I remember saying: ‘I think I’m in love with you,’ and he replied: ‘I’m so glad you said that because I feel exactly the same.’”

The soap star said that she isn’t concerned about the age gap and “usually goes for younger guys.”

“I asked how old he was but I’ve always gone for younger guys. What was beautiful was that he already has a family.

“He’s already very mature in his thinking and he said he didn’t want to be with someone who didn’t have children because they wouldn’t get it.

“We both had the same view in that we came as a package with our children; you fall in love with me, you fall in love with my children, and we did.”
