THE astonishing cost of Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy’s bitter legal wrangle can today be revealed as £1.4million, with new paperwork seen by The Sun showing how Rooney is furiously battling to cap the spiralling fees.
Coleen's latest legal documents that were filed today argue that Rebekah's camp have run up "disproportionate costs" of just under £470,000 so far.
Coleen's documents highlight that Rebekah's figure has risen by £40,000 alone since the last hearing on March 16 and does not include the cost of her initial application.
In total the infamous public row – dubbed WAGatha Christie – has cost a staggering £1.4m in legal fees between the two women – with the figure still rising.
The documents state: "This is not just substantial but wholly unreasonable for a claim that if successful, is likely to yield damages anywhere near six figures.
"While anticipated further costs in excess of £367,000, C's [Vardy's] proposed budget at £837,000 is demonstrably far too high."
It continues: "There are too many lawyers working far too many hours."
Court documents state a £300,000 difference in legal budgets by the warring WAGs.
Rebekah, 39, has budgeted £836,735, compared to Coleen's £537,029 making the former I'm A Celeb star's budget 55 per cent higher.
Coleen, 35, is said to be annoyed at the stark difference in costs and that if she eventually loses the case brought against her could face a large bill for a proportion of her opposite number's expenditure.
Setting out a case for swerving the fees, Coleen's legal team continued: "Indeed, although not the case here, even where parties have a budget which is clearly disproportionate, the court may choose not to make a costs management order or direct a review of the budget."
Rebekah launched a libel case against Coleen after the mum-of-four shared a long Instagram post claiming that the wife of Leicester City ace Jamie's Instagram account was leaking planted stories about her back in 2019.
The now infamous post was signed off "It was… Rebekah Vardy's account" and quickly went viral.
Coleen's team argued in court last year that her post showed "reasonable grounds" she had to suspect Becky's camp were behind the stories leaking.
Vardy has always strongly denied the allegations against her.
