Coronation Street is set to air devastating scenes at the end of this year when Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) reportedly loses her fight for life and dies after her battle with cervical cancer. We have recently seen Sinead given the news that her treatment has been successful but it seems that her cancer will return aggressively, with tragic consequences, leaving Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) without his wife and baby Bertie without a mum.
It was recently all but confirmed that Katie was leaving the show so fans have been expecting a sad ending for the storyline, which has been running for some time and also involved Sinead relying on alternative therapies instead of chemotherapy in the initial stages after her diagnosis.
Rob recently told Metro.co.uk that Daniel would probably do over the edge again if he were to lose Sinead – and there is every possibility that he could replicate the mistakes of his own father as a single dad.
A source told The Sun: ‘From her two rocky relationships to the mini-bus crash, she’s been in some of Corrie’s most captivating storylines. And producers will be sad to see Katie leave the soap, but she will make an unforgettable departure which is set to leave viewers in tears.’
They added that the death of Sinead will also impact Roy Cropper (David Neilson) as it will bring back painful memories of Hayley’s passing.
Daniel will soon propose to a delighted Sinead following her recent good news and the pair will look to the future as they officially become man and wife. But their joy seems to be short lived as they will be torn apart by tragedy in a storyline that is going to be a heartbreaking watch.
Coronation Street representatives don’t comment on future storylines or plot speculation.
