Ryan Prescott has played Ryan Connor since 2018 in Coronation Street.
Over the years, the character became known for being quite the troublemaker.
He was involved in a dark storyline that saw him delay calling an ambulance after finding Cormac collapsed on the floor, which then led to an intense revenge storyline with Cormac’s dad Ronan.
Now though, his life is a lot calmer.
Living at Yasmeen’s (Shelley King), Ryan has been with Alya (Sair Khan) for a while but as they grow distant, their relationship slowly becomes at risk of ending as Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) catches Ryan’s eye.
Ryan right now is quite a light-hearted, innocent character but as he faces troublesome times with Alya, Ryan Prescott has revealed how he’d like things to develop for his character as this love triangle storyline continues:
‘I think that hapless nature could be really great within a story that’s a little darker, a little more serious, there’s I think there’s an opportunity for a lot of pathos with Ryan and not that blithe ignorance could be a lot of fun with something a little darker.
I’d like to see him invest in his life and grow up and make a success of himself. I think a lot of this is because he’s wanting to show Alya that he’s somebody, you know, she’s got so much going for her and he very much feels like a nobody after the duration he’s been with her’.
I don’t think is necessarily something has gone wrong’, Ryan added when discussing Ryan’s relationship with Alya.
‘I think it’s been gradual. Ryan has this juvenile innocence. And he’s not been the centre of attention for a very long time. And I think it’s just a mix of Daisy catering to his ego, at a time where he’s found himself a little bit bored.
He has no purpose right now. I also think it’s just come to the point where Daisy’s just been around and has become more familiar and she’s catered to his ego to a point that it’s made him feel important for the first time in a while’.
